Kicking Off the Game Changers Series!
I have been a sports fan for as long as I can remember. Sports have been a way for me to connect to the world around me - family, friends, and the memories of my childhood. To this day, my sports fandom has been one of the greatest gifts that I have received. Once I started writing children's books I knew that I had to find a way to pay that gift forward to others.
Sports are all about stories. We love telling tales about the moments we were there for. Part of why we watch sports is the hope that tonight might become a story we tell for the rest of our lives. Those stories are how fans are made. And starting this November, I get to hand a few of them to a new generation of readers.
Perhaps it is the Philadelphian in me but being a fan shouldn't be easy. It should be grind. It is a day in and day out experience that you share with others. The painful loss, the trade that doesn't make sense and the random athlete that you had to be there to remember. That's what Game Changers is: a quick download of the sports stories young fans need to know.
Every chapter in Game Changers stands on its own. Each one tells a single true story, then connects it to the bigger history of the sport and the theme of the book. Kids can read a chapter before bed, or the whole thing in a weekend.
#1 Underdogs is about the teams and athletes nobody expected to win, and what happened when they did. These are stories about grit, belief, and the moments when the scoreboard proved everyone wrong. From the Miracle on Ice to Joe Namath's defiant prediction this book reminds young readers that when they are confronted by high expectations they simply need to say, "Let's Win Anyway!"

#2 Football Legends covers the players, plays, and games that shaped football into what kids watch every Sunday. We timed it for the heart of football season, right in time for Thanksgiving. This book explores the story of the first Super Bowl, Miami's undefeated season and the drama of the most memorable plays in the sport's history.

This is just the start. My plan is to release two Game Changers books each season, timed to the sport that's in the spotlight. A baseball book is already in the works for spring, with more sports, rivalries, innovators, and hometown teams to come.
Here's how you can help Game Changers start strong:
Preorder now. Preorders make a big difference for a new series. [Pre Order Underdogs] and [Pre Order Football Legends]
Tell a teacher or librarian. If you know an educator who'd love to bring these stories into their classroom, send them my way. I'd love to visit their school.
Thanks for reading, and for being part of this. I can't wait to hear which story becomes your favorite.
